Jenny Scown

Jenny Scown is a well-travelled photographer who finds creative freedom in capturing special moments with her camera. Throughout her career she has developed a distinctive style characterised by humour and a quirky eye for detail.

Scown spent a number of years travelling and working throughout Europe where she continued to refine her craft, photographing a wide array of subjects, and honing her ability to work quickly and resourcefully in diverse environments. A memorable stint in the Netherlands further expanded her creative horizons, leading her to explore flower photography—a medium that remains central to her artistic practice today.

“I think creativity makes life worth living. It elevates us, brings us together, gets us through the hard times, and brings us the good times.”

Jenny’s curiosity and appetite for new experiences have driven her to establish a dream studio and gallery in Waikato, a space she envisioned as a high-quality exhibition venue for local artists. As a curator, Jenny sees herself as a conductor, orchestrating the display of various artworks while fostering a collaborative environment among the artists she represents. Despite the demands of running a gallery, she remains committed to her photography, seizing every opportunity to immerse herself in her creative process. Jenny passionately believes in the transformative power of creativity, viewing it as a vital force that connects, elevates, and sustains the human spirit.

Based in Tamahere, she is a well-travelled photographer whose creative freedom thrives in capturing moments with humour and a quirky eye for detail. Creativity for her is a powerful force that connects and elevates, making life richer and more meaningful.
